Meet Aditi Jain, a Brand Strategy Director at Leo Burnett. While she draws conclusions for a living, she draws illustrations to humour herself and to be her own shrink and muse. She started out as a closet illustrator, drawing gifts for friends and to document the advertising hustle bustle around her. But eventually on popular demand for prints of her work and an appreciative nudge from her favourite author, she decided to share them with the Instagram world. Although she believes her style is still evolving, her illustrations are designed to draw from the white space around them.

We are going to take you through the sweeter side of Burnett. Desserts are a great antidote to everything that spells a blue mood. And nobody knows this better than Shreya Budhiraja, who has mastered the art of baking and is also a proud addition to our Leo Burnett family. She is a Brand Associate at our Gurugram office since 2017 and has been carrying out her sweet dreams on the side. Shreya realised that her food made people smile and thus, Sucrose was born. A place where her dream of baking came true and the smiles increased by numbers. Sucrose specialises in deconstructed classic desserts, cheesecakes and alcohol infused trifles. Shreya has plans to collaborate and create new memorable menus and recipes. She recently exhibited Sucrose in the Dessertarian Festival at Select Citywalk, Saket, marking Sucrose’s first appearance. We all love the decadence of Sucrose but make sure you do get a piece of the pie!

What is 'primitive', really? The text book definition says it is the 'preservation of character at its early evolutionary stage'. But today we are here to tell a very different story. A story about a person at Leo Burnett India who gives ‘Primitiv’ a brand new meaning (and spelling). Presenting Kiron Kumar, a Brand Services Associate by day, and a guitarist for his very own Death Metal band ‘Primitiv’ at other times. Lords of Primitiv came into being 5 years ago, but Kiron's pursuit for metal began at the age of 12. Not only has his music introduced him to a new world but has taken him around it too. Primitiv released their first track in 2017 and if you haven’t had enough, you can walk into one of his gigs at the Hard Rock Cafe, AntiSocial, Humming Tree and plenty others. You will surely find us there and we hope to see you too.

“I love rock n' roll, so come an' take your time an' dance with me.” Introducing Archit Gadiyar, a Creative Director at our Mumbai office, who doesn't just play his tunes but makes people groove to them even. And it’s not just us, he’s got the whole of India rocking out. How does he do it, you ask? Archit hosts a show on 107.1 FM radio where he plays Classic Rock and Metal on All India Radio as an RJ. You can catch him on air from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. every Friday night and find yourself tuning into your weekend jam. He’s been an instrument enthusiast since the 4th grade and some of his all-time favourite bands and artists include Pink Floyd, Queen, Pearl Jam, Eric Clapton and David Bowie. He inherited his love of music from his dad and takes pride in influencing listeners of different age groups with 70’s Classic Rock. It’s his passion for music that doesn’t stop him from going on air every Friday night and we are certainly all ears.

'A gallery that showcases the authenticity of a musician in the making. Sounds too good to be true? Well, it isn’t. Ayshwarya Sharma, a Brand Strategy Associate at our Mumbai office, saw the need for a medium to bring musicians closer to their dreams. 'Instrupad’, a start up by Ayshwarya and her friends was born to decentralise the way musicians produce, create and release content. Instrupad curates profiles for musicians to help them reach out to other musicians, instrument manufacturers and music schools. ‘Instrupad’ is one of the few music platforms that have actually made a difference. It was even picked as a wild card winner, at an international startup competition called ‘Startup Storm’ by StartupWind. Ayshwarya, being a vocalist herself, understands the sacred relationship between a musician and her work, and hopes to one day educate the world about the science of music. We, her family at Burnett, are all ears.

Susanta Chand, Accounts Executive at our Gurugram office, is an award-winning yoga practitioner, has learned the art of body and mind relaxation, the right way. He rigorously practices yoga asana, pranayama and meditation, and has mastered the integration of his body, mind and spirit. He ensures his compassion benefits many and committing to his beliefs, he has held multiple events to spread awareness for the same. His love for Yogvidya has won him several laurels, including that of a World Record holder for the 'Longest Held Vajrasana Pose' by RecordSetter, a video network featuring the best in human achievement.

India lost against Australia in the World Cup Semifinals on March 26, but that did not dampen the spirit of cricket lovers in our Mumbai office. What followed post the Ind-Aus match was an inter-office cricket tournament. This day, Burnetters enjoyed themselves with drinks, snacks, and of course, cricket!

The Leo Burnett Group (TLG) celebrated Christmas eve with underprivileged kids ailing with cancer at Mumbai's Tata Memorial Hospital. An internal fund in Mumbai office was created, which saw Leo Burnett, Orchard Advertising and Indigo Consulting employees donating a minimum of Rs200 towards the cause. TLG announced an equal amount as donation to the hospital. The kids had a gala time at the event, thanks to entertainment acts such magic show, puppet show, a dance and music session, followed by snacks and gift distribution. Each kid wore a smile (literally) as they were presented with smiling masks – an idea conceptualised and executed by Leo Burnett India’s creative team in Mumbai.

When I joined Chaitra Advertising on 26th May 1989, never in my wildest dreams did I think that I would spend half my life at this agency. What a wonderful journey from Chaitra Advertising to Chaitra Leo Burnett & finally to Leo Burnett. It has been a truly wonderful experience working with so many talented people with whom I had the opportunity to work closely with and from whom I have learnt a lot during these 25 years. I guess the main reason for me staying here for this long has been…”The People” or may I say the LB family. I would like to thank all who I have walked and worked with through these 25 years.
